The only difference between good poetry and bad poetry are the words.

You are a poet

Find some words.
Write them down.
Look at the words.
Delete them.
Find some words.
Write them down.
Look at the words.
Delete them.
Repeat this struggle.
Feel the struggle.
The struggle is a distraction.
The struggle isn’t real.
Consume your fear.
Choose your words.
Drink some coffee.
Click publish.

Background

I sometimes struggle with writing anything, and for the past thirty years have struggled with finding my lost inner poet. I know the poet is in there somewhere, but poetry as a writing form has been mostly replaced by technical writing for me. I know the poems are just a few words and cups of coffee away from finding their way.
