My next decade as a Software Developer

Time for a ten for ten year plan.

• Take ten trips a year with family
• Exercise ten minutes every day
• Teach my kids Java & Smalltalk
• Visit ten different countries
• Read ten books a year
• Write ten blogs a year
• Contribute to ten OSS projects
• Teach 10K devs how to code
• Build a Smalltalk OSS project
• Reach 10K followers on Twitter (???)

I’ve never been a fan of New Year’s resolutions. A commitment of a decade seems more my style. I will be completely satisfied if I only accomplish the first five bullets. Anything beyond that is a bonus. I will approach the next decade with as much passion, patience and persistence as I can muster.
